Complete Color Harmony Guide
Color harmonies are combinations of colors that are aesthetically pleasing based on their positions on the color wheel. The three fundamental harmonies are complementary (opposite colors), analogous (neighboring colors), and triadic (evenly spaced colors).
The complementary scheme pairs a color with its opposite (180-degree rotation). This creates maximum contrast and visual energy. Examples include blue/orange, red/green, and yellow/purple.
The analogous scheme uses colors within 30 degrees of each other, creating soft, natural-feeling palettes. The triadic scheme spaces three colors 120 degrees apart for vibrant, balanced compositions.
