For more sophisticated color mixing, consider blending in perceptually uniform color spaces like CIELAB or OKLCH. These spaces produce more visually even transitions, especially between hues that are far apart on the color wheel.

When blending for UI design, a common technique is to blend your primary color with white at 90-95% ratio to create subtle background tints, or with black at 10-20% to create depth for shadows and borders.

For creating color ramps (like Tailwind's 50-900 scale), blend your base color with white for the lighter end and with a darkened, slightly saturated version for the darker end. This produces more vibrant scales than simply blending with pure black.
